The Election Commission of India has been taking to social media this week to reiterate that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are tamper-proof. The ECI has been tweeting short clips of Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar’s replies to questions at a press conference in Bengaluru last week. In one of the clips, the CEC says the EVM has proved itself and that there have been no complaints in the past five elections. According to EC officials, the CEC’s remarks are being shared to reiterate that the EVM issue is settled.

Help For Health
Over 71,000 persons have come forward from across the country to support about 10 lakh TB patients by providing monthly nutrition kits under the government’s Ni-kshay Mitra programme. The programme was launched last November to ensure adequate nutrition for TB patients, in addition to the cash benefit provided by the government when people are diagnosed with the disease. This is one of the initiatives of the government towards ‘TB Mukt Bharat’. The Union Health minister also flagged off 75 trucks that will spread awareness about the disease across the country.
