In the wake of the pact between Saudi Arabia and Iran on Thursday, India said it has always advocated dialogue and diplomacy to resolve differences and it has “abiding interests” in the region.
Responding to questions on the China-mediated agreement between the two rivals in the West Asian region, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said on Thursday, “We have seen the reports in this regard. India has good relations with various countries in West Asia. We have deep abiding interests in that region. India has always advocated dialogue and diplomacy as a way to resolve differences.”
The two countries had announced the full-fledged restoration of their diplomatic relations after seven years.
