The Life of a Soju Brand Founder and LACMA Event Chair
I am at the helm of a burgeoning soju brand and also oversee the prestigious LACMA Art + Film Gala. My work has me splitting my time between Seoul and Los Angeles, and it’s a rare night when I find myself going to bed before 3 a.m.
Managing a Soju Brand
Leading a soju brand is as challenging as it is exhilarating. Soju, a popular Korean spirit, has seen a surge in global popularity, which means my days are filled with strategic planning, marketing, and a lot of creativity. This role requires not just a deep understanding of the beverage industry but also an innovative approach to making our brand stand out on the global stage.
Chairing the LACMA Art + Film Gala
In addition to my responsibilities with the soju brand, I also chair the LACMA Art + Film Gala, an event that celebrates artistic and cinematic achievements. This role involves a significant amount of coordination with artists, filmmakers, and sponsors, ensuring that each gala surpasses the last in both glamour and impact.
Balancing these roles across two continents means my schedule is hectic and my working hours are long. The cultural and business exchanges between Seoul and Los Angeles are enriching, yet they demand a high level of energy and commitment. Every day offers new challenges and opportunities, and sleep often becomes a secondary concern.
While the lifestyle is demanding, the rewards of seeing both the soju brand grow and the success of the gala each year are immensely fulfilling. The joy of promoting cultural arts and a beloved traditional beverage fuels my passion and keeps me going, even on the longest of days.
