Unveiled Secrets of the Panini Dynasty: New Series Dives into the Iconic Sticker Family’s Saga!

“Remarkable True Story” Of Family Behind World-Famous Panini Stickers Told In Beta-Backed Italian Series ‘Album Of Dreams’

Exclusive Insight into a New Television Series

EXCLUSIVE: For those passionate about World Cup soccer, the Panini sticker album is likely a familiar treasure.

Beta Film is set to sponsor a television series that unveils the incredible true tale of the family that created the iconic Panini sticker empire.

Directed by Letizia Lamartire (The Law According to Lidia Poët), the series titled The Panini Family – Album of Dreams produced by Indigo Films and Rai, will chart the family’s rise from modest beginnings in a war-devastated Italy to their global success as the creators of the most sought-after sticker albums, cherished by millions at every significant soccer event.

The narrative begins in 1940s Italy, where the Panini family, with little financial resources and eight children in tow, relocated to Modena. At the heart of their unity and resilience is their valiant mother, Olga, who encourages them to persistently look forward despite the bleak prospects. Today, their company has grown into a massive conglomerate producing books, comics, magazines, stickers, trading cards, and various other products.

The six-episode series features Serena Rossi (Diabolik, Mina Settembre) in the role of Olga Panini. The cast also includes notable actors such as Simone Liberati (Suburra), Benedetta Cimatti, Federico Cesari (Skam Italia, Everything Calls for Salvation), Luca di Sessa, and Samuele Teneggi (The Good Mothers), with appearances by Edoardo Pesce (The Brilliant Friend, Dogman), and Barbora Bobulova (Portobello, In Treatment).

The announcement of the series is timely, coinciding with the upcoming World Cup final on Sunday. This show could provide some consolation to Italian soccer fans, especially after the national team’s failure to qualify for the World Cup for the third consecutive time.

The production of The Panini Family – Album of Dreams is supported by a collaboration with Rai Fiction, Sanfelice 1893 Banca Popolare, and the Ministero della Cultura – Fund for the Development of Investments in Film and Audiovisual Works. Additional support comes from the Emilia-Romagna Region through the Emilia-Romagna Film Commission, as well as from the Comune di Modena, Fondazione di Modena, and the Camera di Commercio di Modena.

The series is set to broadcast soon on Rai 1 and Rai Play, promising viewers an in-depth look into the saga of a family that turned simple stickers into a worldwide phenomenon.
