Scheduled for a premiere on September 11, 2026, The Fix pairs the adept star of the Taken series with the engaging lead from Shazam in a thrilling narrative that blends elements of a spy movie with a robbery plot. Initially named Hotel Tehran, the movie was renamed following a title revamp. The project is helmed by writer-director Guy Moshe, who developed the film from an original concept by Bazzel Baz, a former real-world intelligence agent, with Mark Bacci also contributing as a co-writer.
The latest trailer for The Fix, released by Briarcliff Entertainment, showcases a high-stakes plot set in Iran, featuring Neeson as a seasoned CIA official and Levi as his less experienced subordinate. The film’s ensemble cast includes Titus Welliver, Quincy Isaiah (Winning Time), Annet Mahendru (The Americans), Grant Harvey (Animal Kingdom), and Augusto Aguilera (The Predator).
The Fix “centers around a team of battle-scarred CIA operatives mentored by ‘Larry’ (Liam Neeson) and commanded by ‘Tucker’ (Zachary Levi). Following a catastrophic failure during their mission in Afghanistan, the team ventures into Tehran seeking redemption through a perilous rescue mission,” as described in its official synopsis.
The newly released trailer delves into further details only hinted at in the synopsis, such as the disastrous outcome of the Afghanistan mission led by Levi and the significant emotional toll it takes on his marriage. The preview also unveils that the “perilous rescue” alluded to earlier is actually a high-stakes heist. This involves Levi and his team disguising themselves to infiltrate Tehran and access a hotel room where Neeson’s character previously hid a large sum of money.
The title The Fix is further justified when Levi and his team breach the hotel room wall, only to find not the anticipated cash but something Levi describes as “more valuable.” The trailer suggests the entire heist was orchestrated to retrieve this valuable item, a detail Neeson’s character failed to mention to his protégé, leading to accusations of dishonesty. Neeson’s response in a gruff, action-hero tone perfected since Taken, “I may deceive you, son,” he says, “but I’ll never lie to you.”
Writer-director Moshe shared his inspiration for creating The Fix in a recent statement. “The Fix was inspired by my deep-seated desire to immerse audiences in the tumult and ethical dilemmas of warfare, beyond just the action,” he explained. “Collaborating with a dedicated ensemble cast, spearheaded by Liam and Zac, who established the emotional depth, allowed me to navigate the narrative into profoundly human areas while still achieving the intense, large-scale filmmaking that this genre commands.”
