Exclusive Opportunity: “New Love” Debuts at MIPCOM
The Dori Media Group is set to introduce a novel dating format created by Abot Hameiri, a subsidiary of Fremantle, to the global television market at the upcoming MIPCOM event.
The innovative show, “New Love,” accelerates the dating experience by placing four single women in a 72-hour intensive cohabitation with selected partners, bypassing traditional dating apps and staged first dates. This immersive format plunges the participants directly into the routines of daily life, including waking up together, interacting with each other’s social circles, and handling ordinary life challenges. After the initial 72 hours, each woman must decide whether to advance with the same partner or start anew with someone else.
Proven Success and Audience Growth
Although “New Love” is just now entering the international market, it has been successfully broadcast under the title “Ahava Hadasha” on Israel’s Reshet 13 channel for five seasons. The show has consistently increased its viewership, with the fifth season witnessing a 40% rise in overall audience numbers and a staggering 250% increase in viewers aged 25-34 compared to the third season. The production of a sixth season is already underway.

“The consistent audience growth and the format’s ability to engage particularly the younger viewers are testament to its success,” stated Nadav Palti, CEO of Dori Media Group. “We are excited to bring ‘New Love’ to a global audience and expect it to resonate well across different cultures and markets,” he added.
Redefining the Genre of Dating Shows
“For the past 25 years, dating shows have primarily focused on the initial spark or the ‘foreplay’ of relationships,” explained Roee Strikovski, CEO of Abot Hameiri. “‘New Love’ shifts the focus to the actual relationship dynamics by testing couples in real-life situations over the course of 72 hours. This approach has resonated well with our audience in Israel across five seasons,” Strikovski noted.
Other Ventures and Upcoming Projects
Abot Hameiri is also known for “Power Couple,” another relationship-centered format that has been adapted in over 25 territories. Notably, a 24/7 version of the show recently premiered across Televisa/Univision’s platforms in the U.S. Hispanic market and Mexico.
Additionally, Abot Hameiri and Dori Media recently launched a new game show, “The Auction,” on América Televisión in Peru.
As MIPCOM approaches, set to take place in Cannes, France in just over a month, industry professionals are gearing up for what promises to be a dynamic and engaging market event.
