Attack on Titan is considered one of the world’s most acclaimed anime series and captivates fans across the globe, including India. Despite its massive popularity, this captivating anime based on Hajime Isayama’s manga is still not available on streaming platforms in India.
The anime, known for its complicated characters, captivating plot, and intense action, ended with its final episode on November 4th. While the world watched the most awaited episode of the series on Crunchyroll, Indian fans did not have official access to stream it.
This situation has caused frustration among many fans. Many of them have taken to social media to ask streaming companies why the series is still not available in India.
Back in 2019, fans started an online petition to urge Netflix to bring the series to the country, collecting 57,000 signatures. However, their requests were met with radio silence:
After years of insistence, sites like @DisneyPlusHS @Crunchyroll @PrimeVideo @NetflixIndia ultimately failed to deliver the one series people have been asking for for YEARS

Passionate anime fans in India are eager to support anime and showcase the potential of the market. However, if they lack legitimate options and the right selection of shows, that’s not entirely their fault. Despite Crunchyroll’s growing presence in India, fans still use VPNs or resort to piracy. This takes us back to the time when India was completely overlooked by the companies and fans had to use these methods to watch anime. It seems that despite the significant growth in anime audiences in India, not much has changed.
CRUNCHYROLL WILL NOT STREAM THE LAST EPISODE IN INDIA!!
This is one of the most idiotic L moves ever @Crunchyroll They can get the rights for INDIA 🇮🇳 but for some reason they don’t.
Considering how popular and ravenous the AoT fandom is in India, streaming is literally a no-brainer. pic.twitter.com/rUl0tX43Y2

Licensing issues, regional restrictions, and complex distribution agreements often present obstacles for anime fans worldwide. However, in recent years, anime accessibility in India has improved significantly, thanks in part to platforms such as Crunchyroll, Muse Asia and Netflix. These services have started offering a wide range of anime shows in India every season. However, fans have expressed concern over streaming platforms choosing to dub shows in Indian languages that lack mainstream appeal. They argue that streaming services should prioritize acquiring the rights to stream popular anime in India. According to them, this would not only provide official viewing options but also strengthen subscriptions and fan engagement.
Regardless of the underlying reasons, the absence of Attack on Titan on Indian platforms is a significant disappointment for fans. They remain hopeful that the series will be available to stream in India in the near future. It was a huge missed opportunity for streaming platforms. They could have seen a huge increase in viewership as viewers flocked to watch the episode online.
