President Biden was accused of disrespect after he quickly exited the East Room of the White House before the conclusion of a Medal of Honor ceremony honoring a Vietnam War veteran Tuesday.
Biden, 80, left the ceremony abruptly after pinning the nation’s highest military decoration around the neck of retired Army Capt. Larry Taylor, 81, before Kaplan Brigadier General read the final blessing. General William Green Jr.
Military veterans subsequently criticized Biden, saying the commander-in-chief had shown an appalling lack of respect.
“Excuse my French… But what about the idiot?” The enduring lack of respect Biden shows towards everyone is appalling. Hawaii, military personnel, active shooter victims, the list goes on,” said former Navy SEAL and podcast host Shawn Ryan tweeted after Biden’s hasty exit.

He was referring to when Biden appeared to glance at his watch during a ceremony honoring the 13 US servicemen killed in a terrorist attack near Kabul Airport in Afghanistan in August 2021.

Some have questioned whether Biden’s sudden departure was pre-planned or if it was another case where the vacillating leader was unsure of where to go after public statements.
“Do you think that was done on purpose or is it just more senile moments? I think the guy is so self-absorbed that he makes mistakes like this. “God, this man is a tremendous disgrace to our nation,” said Tim Harmsen, Indiana state director for Gun Owners of America reflected in a tweet.
In the official video of the White House ceremony, the feed is interrupted just after Biden exits the East Room, also ignoring the chaplain’s blessing.

The White House did not immediately respond to the Post’s request for comment.
Taylor was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions during a battle in Vietnam in June 1968.
The respected helicopter pilot braved intense ground fire for 45 minutes while conducting low-level attacks, pounding the enemy with bullets and air missiles while encircling US forces on the ground.
