In celebration of the upcoming 15th anniversary of CoralineLAIKA Studios will bring the critically acclaimed animated film to the big screen again in Remastered 3D this August.
The stop-motion feature film directed by Henry Selick returned to cinemas on August 14, 2023. Last year’s theatrical re-release of “Coraline” grossed $5 million in two days, according to Forbes, proving its status as a fan favorite. The film immediately landed on the list of the most successful new releases to date alongside Titanic, Avatar, Grease, Jaws, The Wizard of Oz and The Godfather.

What is Coraline about?
Based on Neil Gaiman’s novel, Coraline is a stop-motion animated film that tells the adventures of a young girl who has found a magical portal to a parallel world where her life is much better. However, the seemingly perfect world hides some terrible secrets.
The synopsis for Coraline reads: “A young girl walks through a secret door in her new home and discovers an alternative version of her life. On the surface, this parallel reality is eerily similar to her real life – only much better. But when this wondrously unhinged, fantastical adventure turns dangerous and her false parents try to keep her forever, Coraline must rely on her ingenuity, determination and courage to save her family and return home.”
The voice cast for Coraline includes Dakota Fanning as Coraline Jones, John Hodgman as Charlie Jones, Teri Hatcher as Mel Jones, Dawn French as Miriam Forcible, Jennifer Saunders as April Spink, Robert Bailey Jr. as Wybie Lovat and Carolyn Crawford as Mrs. Lovat, Ian McShane as Sergei Alexander Bobinsky and Keith David as The Cat.
