Israel Defense Forces spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari confirmed the report of Hamas members’ surrender in Gaza on Saturday, according to The Times of Israel. Hagari added that those who surrendered had provided intelligence information about the state of Hamas.
“The following findings emerged from the interrogations of the surrendered terrorists: The situation of the activists on site is difficult and the Hamas leadership under the leadership of…” [Yahya] “Sinwar denies the reality, although he is up to date on the details,” Hagari said, according to Emanuel Fabian, military correspondent for the Times of Israel.

Hagari also reportedly says that there is “a widespread feeling that the underground Hamas leadership does not care about the above-ground public in Gaza.”
Hamas terrorists launched a deadly surprise attack on Israel on October 7, killing, wounding, raping and kidnapping thousands of Israelis. Israel responded with airstrikes on Gaza in retaliation and later launched a ground campaign to destroy Hamas, which has resulted in the deaths of more than 17,400 people in Gaza, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry.
