war of stars Fans could be forgiven for thinking that the franchise operated on a relatively small scale. So far, the threats that characters face in the films and TV shows haven’t changed all that much; Each iteration of the franchise has its version of an evil empire or dark-side Force user, and everything has some connection to the Skywalker bloodline. However, Ahsoka teases the possibility that there are other galaxies in the larger Star Wars universe beyond the central galaxy, which is “far, far away.” Here you will find a guide to changing the definition of your own universe through the Star Wars series.
What do we know about the Star Wars galaxy?

The core galaxy, in which most films, television shows, books, comics, games, and other material are set, has existed since the beginning of the Star Wars series’ fictional timeline. The standard timeline uses the term “BBY” (Before the Battle of Yavin) in its references to specific years – in other words, this indicates how many years passed either before (or after) the events Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope take place. The earliest canonical stories in the current version of the franchise take place just over 300 years before the events of the Skywalker Saga. The events were documented in the current multimedia project The High Republicwhich includes various books, comic series, video games and the upcoming Disney+ series The Acolyte. The upcoming James MangoldDirected film, provisional title Dawn of the Jediwill take the timeline back even further, to events that predate the previous stories by 25,000 years.
So far in the modern canon, the only known facts about the other galaxies in the Star Wars universe have come from concrete clues from individual characters. There is a short sequence Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones where Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) explores a cluster of different galaxies with Yoda’s class of Jedi younglings searching for Kamino, and the core galaxy is seen among other known galaxies. Most of these are not mentioned by name, but Dexter Jettster mentions an irregular satellite galaxy called the “Rishi Maze”. The most recent canonical novel family tree also refers to the possibility of interstellar travel and that during an event known as the “Axamine Crisis”, a clan of warriors left the known galaxy due to irreversible problems with the Galactic Republic. In The High RepublicThe Nihil are able to operate in an area of space that is out of sight of the rest of the galaxy, but does not extend beyond. Otherwise, communications with life forms from other galaxies were nothing more than distorted anomalies.

Dave Filoni used his animated shows to further expand the galaxy

The larger universe beyond the central galaxy was primarily mentioned Dave Filonis animated shows set within the Mortis system and the world between worlds, which are somewhat removed from the core universe and exist on a spiritual level through the Force. Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka Tano visited the mysterious realm of Mortis for the first time The Clone Wars‘ third season, and later Yoda visits another ethereal location that allows him to communicate with the Force spirit of Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson). It didn’t last until war of stars Rebels that Ezra Bridger and Ahsoka were able to use the mysterious world between worlds to visit this existential plane where the Force ghosts live. The World Between Worlds is not exactly a separate galaxy, but a place removed from time and space. Ahsoka reawakens in the latest film, “The World Between Worlds.” Ahsoka Episode “Fallen Jedi.”
At the end of Rebels, Ezra and Grand Admiral Thrawn, along with a clan of Purrgil monsters, are transported to a planet called Peridea, which exists in an entirely different galaxy. Here is Morgan Elsbeths (Diana Lee Inosanto) star map in Ahsoka reached; Sabine and Ahsoka desperately search for Peridea to rescue Ezra and bring him home. While Ahsoka points out that Elsbeth’s ship is the Eye of the sprout is able to reach Peridea, it is not yet known what this exotic planet actually looks like.
Star Wars Legends introduced intergalactic travel for the first time

The older war of stars The expanded universe is more direct in its relationships to other galaxies. In The New Jedi Order In the novel series, a species from another galaxy known as the Yuuzhan Vong invades the New Republic to terraform and conquer its inhabitants. The Yuuzhan Vong have access to interstellar travel via the organic planet Zonama Sekot, which can travel between different galaxies. The planet is first visited by the fallen Jedi Knight Vergere, who is captured before subsequently taking part in the invasion of the core universe. While the Yuuzhan Vong galaxy is only mentioned in The New Jedi Order In books, the species’ abilities suggest that its natural laws are very different from anything else in the Star Wars universe.
The Yuuzhan Vong possess weapons impervious to the effects of the Force and possess the ability to biologically terraform various individuals, pieces of technology, and entire planets. Coruscant briefly falls under the species’ control before Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Jacen Solo were able to force Zonama Sekot to enter into a truce with the Galactic Alliance (the reorganized galactic government structure that replaced the failing New Republic). The surviving Yuuzhan Vong clans lived on Zonama Sekot while it remained in the Core Galaxy until the events of that year Star Wars: Legacy Comic series.
The events of The New Jedi Order The series were controversial as they were radically different from anything else in the franchise at the time. previous stories set after the events of Return of the Jedi It largely introduced villains associated with the previous regime of the Galactic Empire. However, it represented an entirely new element that diversified Star Wars storytelling through its broader approach to science fiction and fantasy. If Ahsoka Peridea can use it to achieve similar goals, then it is a successful addition to the saga.
