Tel Aviv:

The creator of the Israeli cult web series “Fauda”, Avi Issacharoff, commented on the airstrike and the ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza, saying that the ongoing operations are a consequence of what the terrorist group did in southern Israel on October 7 .

He claimed that Israeli forces are achieving their military objectives in Gaza and are moving ever closer to the center of Gaza City.

“What we are seeing on the ground in Gaza today is the result of the October 7 Hamas attacks, and we must keep that in mind. Last week the Israeli army began its ground operations (in Gaza). The last eight days have passed.” As far as I know, things are continuing as planned. They (Israeli Defense Forces) are making good progress on the ground, whether in the northern parts of Gaza such as Behan and Belaya or in Gaza City, especially in the Zeitoun area,” Issacharoff told ANI.

“There is a continued forward movement and it appears that the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) is moving closer and closer to downtown Gaza City, which is the central location of the Hamas regime,” he added.

The presenter said the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks were the largest carried out by Hamas on Israeli territory, with more civilians killed in his homeland in one day than in Israel’s history since the Holocaust.

“Immediately after (terror attacks), they (Hamas) went underground. They walked under houses and neighborhoods of Gaza City, hoping that Israel would not attack them as they hid behind human shields behind Palestinian civilians. They also thought that we would not target them in the neighborhoods where they are hiding for fear of the loss of many civilian lives,” Issacharoff told ANI.

“And through this (attack on civilian areas in Gaza), the whole world is accusing Israel of creating war zones, just like we see. In a way, they predicted it, they wanted it, and they succeeded. Israel is killing Palestinian civilians whether we like it or not, and of course we don’t like it. But Israel is also making some very impressive military advances and is managing to get close to many Hamas leaders,” he added.

On October 10, Israeli actor Lior Raz, who gained worldwide fame as Doron Kabilio, his character in “Fauda,” and previously defended his country’s front lines as part of the IDF, joined the “Brothers in Arms,” a group of volunteers to negotiate the safe release of the hostages in Gaza.

The actor from the southern Israeli city of Sderot shared a video on social media in which he appeared with Israel Democracy Institute President Yohanan Plesner and Avi Yissascharov.

The video shows them filming a Hamas rocket attack on Israel.

Meanwhile, a massive explosion rocked the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip late Saturday evening, leaving dozens dead and scores injured, CNN reported, citing hospital officials.

Mohammad al-Hajj, the communications director of the nearby Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al-Balah, said the explosion killed 52 people.
