He revealed that his approach to the stories he wants to tell is very different:
“[Tarantino is] an author. I mean, it’s something different. I make up stories, I’m drawn to stories by other people, in very different ways. And so I think it’s a different process… I respect writers and I wish I could… I wish I could just be in a room and write these novels. No films, no novels. All stories, long stories.”

Scorsese abandons his process with “Killers of the Flower Moon” and other projects
Scorsese further noted that his process is different from that which a writer would follow. First he gets involved in the story and learns details from it, and if he is curious, he will find “a way” to tell that story. Only at a later point does he begin to think about the characters and ultimately “the spectacle around them”. That’s one of the reasons for it Leonardo Dicaprio‘s character in Flower Moon Killer production changed drastically.
