Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced this mega 2 4K, Blu-ray and DVD release dates for Ben Wheatley’s sci-fi action film, which grossed over $320 million at the global box office during its theatrical run.
When is the release date of Meg 2 4K, Blu-ray and DVD?
Meg 2: The Trench will be available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on October 24th. The Jason Statham film is also available now for early Premium Digital Ownership at home for $24.99 and for a 48-hour rental via PVOD at $19.99 MSRP on participating digital platforms including Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Vudu and more.
The home video release will include bonus content including two special features listed below:
- The Making of Meg 2: The Trench – cast and crew take a look at the making of the film and working with new and returning cast members, then explore the beauty and challenges of working with a Meg they can’t see!
- Up From the Depths: Even More Beasts – Director Ben Wheatley, cast and producers take fans through the creation and design of the new creatures starring in Meg 2: The Trench
What is Meg 2: The Trench about?
“Back for seconds! Meg 2: The Trench is the highly-anticipated next chapter of this summer’s global blockbuster, which returns to the big screen once again with Jason Statham headlining and now collaborating with Wu Jing, the star of five of the ten highest-grossing films in China,” reads the summary. “Our unstoppable heroes battle a horde of savage Megs, led by the greatest Meg of all time, along with new creatures never seen before, in a monstrous action thriller.”
The Meg 2 is directed by Wheatley (“In the Earth”) from a screenplay by Jon Hoeber, Erich Hoeber and Dean Georgaris, based on the novel “The Trench” by Steve Alten. Statham and Wu are joined by Sophia Cai (The Meg), Page Kennedy (The Meg), Sergio Peris-Mencheta (Rambo: Last Blood), Skyler Samuels (The Gifted) and Cliff Curtis (Avatar franchise).
It is made by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Belle Avery. Executive Producers are Statham, Cate Adams, Ruigang Li, Catherine Xujun Ying, Wu Jing, E. Bennett Walsh, Erik Howsam, Gerald R. Molen and Randy Greenberg.
