Saban Films has secured US rights to Michael Keaton’s film Knox walks away Thriller also stars Al Pacino, James Marsden and Marcia Gay Harden. Saban is targeting a theatrical release in the first quarter of 2024.
Keaton directs the neo-noir thriller and stars as John Knox, a hitman with rapid-onset dementia who is offered the chance to redeem himself by saving the life of the adult son, played by Marsden, with whom he lives he had become estranged.
As the otherwise cold and calculating killer increasingly loses his memory, Knox finds himself in a race against time as a lost and confused father tries to help his son cover up a sordid and violent crime. To find the way, Knox turns to his friend Xavier (Al Pacino) to show him the way as time runs out.
Knox walks away Also starring are Suzy Nakamura as a tough detective, John Hoogenakker, Joanna Kulig, Ray McKinnon and Lela Loren. The film was written by Gregory Poirier and premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
Keaton directed the film back in 2008 The cheerful gentleman, in which he also played the lead role. His acting credits include: Beetlejuice, Batman, Birdman, Headlight And The founder.
Knox walks away is produced by Keaton, Trevor Matthews, Nick Gordon, Michael Sugar and Ashley Zalta. Executive producers include Jonathan Saba, Carter, Jillian Kay, Nick Blasko, Wayne Carmona, David Gendron, Michael Hansen, Nate Holthouser, Andy Huang, Ali Jazayeri, Scott Lake, Eric London, Donald Povieng, Dina Randazzo, Ronald Richardson and Viviana Zarragoitia.
The distribution deal was negotiated by Bill Bromiley for Saban Films, with CAA Media Finance and Verve Ventures acting for the filmmakers. FilmNation Entertainment represents international rights.
