They occurred mainly in the afternoons and evenings on buses around Ealing, Hammersmith, Westminster and Hounslow.

The suspect or victim would usually board a bus at Westfield Shepherds Bush, Ealing Broadway or Acton High Street, all in west London.

He tends to target Muslim women by first sitting next to them, then touching them but not speaking.

The images show a man wearing a dark hoodie over his head, a blue mask and dark pants, who police want to speak to.

There have been no arrests but the Metropolitan Police investigation is ongoing.

DS Matthew Brown, from the Met’s Transport Policing Command, said: “We are aware of the social media posts regarding this individual and appreciate the concern these incidents will cause.”

“We want to reassure the community that we are doing everything we can to identify and locate the suspect.”

“While his face is covered by the images, we hope anyone who knows him will recognize him or his clothing and get in touch.

“If you also believe this man has targeted you but have not yet spoken to the police, please get in touch with us – at least so we know you are safe and supported.”
