The police said the duo refused to cooperate for a breathalyzer test and got into an argument. Further, on analysing the vehicles’ documents, the officers found that the two didn’t have proper papers for one of the bikes. Subsequently, they were told to leave the motorbike and collect it from the station the next day. However, the men continued to argue with the officers.
Soon, Sathyaraj’s wife Akshaya reached the spot and hurled abuses at the police officers and also threw a cap at one personnel, the police added. Based on a complaint by the Choolaimedu sub-inspector, a case was registered soon. The three accused were arrested and later remanded in judicial custody.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Greater Chennai police took to Twitter and posted, “Action has been taken against those involved in the above incident. A case has been registered at Chulaimedu Police Station and the case is under investigation.”
