At MHA session, Amit Shah for enhanced use of AI

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday chaired a “chintan shivir” of senior officers of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and advocated enhanced use of artificial intelligence for critical analysis of crimes to make cities safer for women, children and vulnerable sections of the population.

In January, PM Narendra Modi had exhorted all D-Gs at the all-India annual conference of D-Gs and I-Gs to use AI more.

An official said the objective of Tuesday’s brainstorming session was to review work of the MHA and evolve an action plan to implement the PM’s Vision 2047. Shah spoke in favour of developing an ecosystem for cybercrime management, modernisation of police forces, increased use of IT in criminal justice system, land border management and coastal security issues, the ministry stated.
