Bhavnagar dummy candidate case: Jadeja reveals 2 more names
Paper leak whistleblower and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Yuvrajsinh Jadeja Thursday revealed two more names in the Bhavnagar dummy candidate case in Ahmedabad. He also alleged that several ministers of the state government were also part of the scam.
“One Rushi Baraiya of Piparla village appeared for a Mahendra Baraiya (in a Class 12 board exam). There is another dummy candidate — Darshan Baraiya. But it is not yet known who he appeared for,” Jadeja told mediapersons.
Four persons were arrested after the Local Crime Branch of Bhavnagar police, on April 16, busted a racket that provided dummy candidates for attending government recruitment examinations and board examinations on behalf of candidates from the district.
“This is quite a big scam, and it is not just one particular recruiter, but involves many….Those named are not just the ones. There are various ministers of the state government involved as well….and they want to cover up this issue,” Jadeja told The Indian Express.
He alleged that it was PK Dave, who is currently under the custody of Bhavnagar police for the same case, who pushed Rushi to appear as a dummy candidate.
According to an FIR registered at the Bharat Nagar police station, Sharad Panot, Prakash alias PK Dave and Baldev Rathod — all Bhavnagar residents — forged candidates’ hall-tickets for various government recruitment examinations and Class 10 and 12 examinations to send dummy candidates to take the examination on behalf of dozens of aspirants and students since 2012.
