Bhiwandi building collapse: Trapped for over 18 hours under debris, 38-year-old rescued
After over 18 hours of being trapped under debris, a 38-year-old man was rescued from the Bhiwandi building collapse site on Sunday by the disaster response forces. On Saturday afternoon, a ground-plus-two building collapsed, killing three and injuring others.

The man, identified as Sunil Pisa, was rescued by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Target Disaster Response Force (TDRF) at around 8 am on Sunday from the debris and rushed to the IGM Hospital in Bhiwandi, PTI reported.
So far, the collapse has killed three persons, including a minor girl, and injured 11 others.
The minor girl was identified as Sona Mukesh Kori. Several people are still feared to be trapped under the debris and their exact number remains unknown. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde offered his condolences and announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the kin of the dead.
On Saturday, the CM has visited the victims of the Bhiwandi collapse at Indira Gandhi Hospital and instructed the hospital to provide medical treatment at government expense.
