CBSE Class 10 Result 2023: Girls’ performance improved in last 5 years
CBSE Class 10 result 2023: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the Class 10 exam every year for all the schools that are affiliated with the board. This year, the CBSE Class 10 exams were held from February 15 to March 21. A total of 21.8 lakh students registered for the class 10 exams this year.
In the last 5 years, the performance of girl students has significantly improved. While in 2018, the pass percentage of girls was 88.67 per cent which increased by around 3 per cent (92.45 per cent) in 2019.
The performance of the girls’ improved again in 2020 with a pass percentage of 93.31 per cent. In 2020, CBSE cancelled the board exams due to Covid-19 and an alternative assessment scheme was derived to evaluate students.

The year 2021 saw a very steep rise in girls’ pass percentage. However, it is important to note that the exams were cancelled by the board due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 2022, the CBSE exams were conducted in two terms or semesters. The performance of the girls in 2022 had dipped slightly in comparison to 2021 but was better than 2018, 2019 and 2020. In 2022, the pass percentage of female students dipped by around 4 per cent to 95.21 per cent.
Last year, over 21 lakh students appeared and the overall pass percentage for Class 10 was 94.40 per cent. The exams were conducted in two parts. Part I exams were held in Nov-Dec and Part II in May-June. The result was declared in July.
The CBSE board will release the Class 10 results in May. Once released, students can check their results at the official websites – cbse.nic.in, cbseresults.nic.in, cbseresults.gov.in and cbse.gov.in.
