Day after attack that left wife dead, Neb Sarai man says ‘did it in rage’
A day after a man was arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly killing his wife and attacking his son and daughter with an axe inside their house in Neb Sarai, senior officers said that the 55-year-old told the police that he committed the act in a “fit of rage”.
Senior police officers said that the accused, Vijay Veer, had scuffles with his family in the past as well. In 2017, Veer had allegedly fired at his family over a quarrel, for which a case was lodged at Mehrauli Police Station.
“During interrogation, he told police that he became enraged and picked up an axe that was kept inside his house and started attacking his wife, Suman, on the neck, causing her grievous injuries…after hitting his wife, he attacked his daughter and son,” said the officer.
The woman was declared dead on arrival when shifted to the hospital.
“On interrogation, he said that he always resented that he got nothing from his deceased wife’s family… he was always angry and held grudges against his wife, daughter and son,” said an officer.
