Here’s a movie project that Anand Mahindra wants SS Rajamouli to take up
Telugu director SS Rajamouli has won accolades for his epic and historical films like Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Oscar-winning RRR.
Now, business tycoon Anand Mahindra has given a shoutout to Rajamouli and Twitter thread with historical illustrations, urging him to consider a film project based on an era.
“These are amazing illustrations that bring history alive & spark our imagination. Shoutout to @ssrajamouli to consider a film project based on that era that will create global awareness of that ancient civilisation…” Mahindra wrote.
The illustrations feature ancient Cities of Indus Valley Civilization including Harappa, Mohenjo Daro, Dholavira, Lothal, Kalibangan, Banawali, Rakhigarhi, Surkotada, Chanhu Daro, Rupar. The Twitter thread was shared by Twitter handle Desi Thug.

Desi Thug noted in the comments section, “Indus Valley Civilization is the world Oldest Civilization Dated Back to more than 7500 BCE, Sole Purpose of this tweet is just to educate the Name ancient cities existed in our Indus Valley.. All Pictures are used here for Representative purpose maybe differ from Sites ]”
The tweet elicited several responses. A user commented, “A brilliant demand by sir @anandmahindraji.” Another user wrote, “You should see ponniyin selvan by manirathnam sir.”
It should be noted that Rajamouli’s Baahubali has been compared with Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan. The second part of the epic drama Ponniyin Selvan-2 was released in theatres on Friday and has collected more than 82 crores at the box office domestically.
