Jalandhar bypoll: With 11 days left for bypoll, BJP campaign goes digital
With just 11 days left for the Jalandhar bypoll, all political parties have started campaigning in full swing.
While the BJP has launched hi-tech vehicles with LCD screens on the sides to make people aware about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies and works, the AAP has also started a spree of road shows.
BJP on Friday launched its digital campaign by starting nine vehicles in nine assembly constituencies under the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat. Sources said that these vehicles are being launched now in this by-poll but the real purpose of these vehicles is to target 2024 Lok sabha elections. They said that these digital vans will promote the policies of the BJP led NDA government.
BJP has given the ticket to Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal in this elections.
On the other hand, AAP has also started organising daily road shows. On Thursday, CM Bhagwant Mann organised two road shows in Jalandhar and on Friday, he conducted a road show in Shahkot Vidhan Sabha segment for AAP candidate Sushil Kumar Rinku.
During the roadshow, Mann addressed the gathering of people at Shahkot and Mehatpur. Attacking the Congress,BJP and Akali Dal, he said that these parties ruined the state when they were in power in Punjab.
“Instead of giving jobs to the youth of common households, the Congress and Akali governments gave jobs to the families and relatives of their leaders and ministers. These people built their own big palaces with the taxpayers’ money and did nothing for the common people. Corrupt leaders of these parties gave guns instead of pens in the hands of the youth and gave drugs instead of jobs. Our government is working day and night to secure the future of the youth of Punjab. We have given government jobs to more than 28,000 youths in Punjab in just a year and will create more jobs in the future,” he said, adding that that our government is continuously taking concrete steps to provide good education and good medical services to the people of Punjab.
He said that along with saving the youth of Punjab, our government is also paying special attention to saving the farmers. “After forming the government, we increased MSP for sugarcane farmers to the highest in the country at Rs 390 per quintal. Apart from this, the compensation to the farmers for loss of crops due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms has been increased to Rs 15,000 per acre,” he said.
