Pizza delivery agent trips suspect during a high-speed police chase. Watch video

In a high-speed chase in Pennsylvania, the United States, a pizza delivery agent came to the aid of Pennsylvania police as he tripped a car thief suspect. The delivery agent named Tyler Morrell, 29 was at the door of a customer’s home in Middletown Township when police came chasing the suspect in a car.

The clip captured in the doorbell camera shows the delivery agent holding the pizza and standing nonchalantly before he notices the police chase. The customer is heard screaming “That’s a high speed chase! Oh my god” as the getaway car halts in front of the house. The delivery agent is seen walking forward and watching the dramatic chase. While the suspect tries to escape in front of him, the agent trips him instantly. The suspect falls down and gets caught by the cops who use expletives.

Praising the pizza delivery agent, Brookhaven Police wrote on Facebook, “Thank you sir for the assist!!! If you’re interested in a job we are always looking for good people. Coccos Pizza Aston. -You have great employees!”

Morrell held the pizza carefully during the turn of events. Pizza Aston wrote, “Sorry for the innapropriate language, but we thought it was warranted. Special shoutout to our delivery driver Tyler, who assisted the Brookhaven police today, and STILL delivered the food unharmed!!”

However, the police force cautioned people from getting involved in dangerous situations when suspects run. “In all seriousness, we do ask people to not intervene,” Police Chief Michael Vice said, according to NBC Philadelphia. “We do want to let the police handle it. But, in this case, it did work out.”

Tom Aveni, director of the Police Policy Studies Council told The Philadelphia Inquirer that Morell’s role likely wouldn’t warrant criminal charges, but opens up the possibility of a civil lawsuit if the fleeing suspect was injured. The suspect who ran was a juvenile and was charged accordingly. “There was never the option for me not to do anything in this situation,” Morrell told the newspaper.
