Ponniyin Selvan 2 song Chinnanjiru Nilave is a melancholic melody about Nandini and Karikalan’s love

Filmmaker Mani Ratnam is all set to release the second installment of Ponniyin Selvan and the music of the sequel has only added to the intrigue of movie goers. On Thursday, the makers released the song “Chinnanjiru Nilave”, which is composed by AR Rahman, crooned by Haricharan and written by Ilango Krishnan.

In Ponniyin Selvan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Nandini and Vikram’s Adithya Karikalan play childhood sweethearts who are separated and now bitterness delves between the two. “Chinnanjiru Nilave” talks about the love and pain that stays in the hearts of the two former lovers.

The song has been released in five languages, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam.

Music composer AR Rahman recently released PS Anthem. The song talks about the Chola empire’s glory. The music video features Rahman performing the song next to a throne. It also includes shots from the movie.

Besides Aishwarya and Vikram, Ponniyin Selvan 2 stars Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi in key roles. The film is set to release on April 28.
