Prada once again tops Lyst’s hottest brands ranking; Uniqlo’s shoulder bag becomes cheapest product to get featured
Lyst released its latest index report — a quarterly ranking of fashion’s hottest brands and products — for 2023 Q1 on Wednesday. To track the latest brand and product trends, “Lyst Index takes into account Lyst shoppers’ behaviour, including searches on and off platform, product views and sales”. Further, it also incorporates social media mentions, activity, and engagement statistics worldwide, over a three-month period.
Sustaining its top position from the last quarter, Prada was once again announced as the hottest brand in the world with searches up by 22 per cent. The second place was occupied by Miu Miu, which could thank its highest ranking since the Lyst Index began to the solid demand for the pocket bag, a second collaboration with New Balance, and the buzzy Paris Fashion Week show.
As per the Index, the fastest rise of the quarter has been Versace as it rocketed five spots up the chart to take the 8th spot. Two brands – SKIMS and JW Anderson – made their first appearances in the Hottest Brands ranking this quarter. While Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand has become a cultural and corporate phenomenon, Jonathan Anderson’s label was propelled into the spotlight owing to powerful celebrity endorsements.

This quarter, the breakout brands are Khaite, Magda Butrym, and Ann Demeulemeester.
As for the hottest products, Uniqlo’s shoulder bag, which retails for under $20, became the cheapest product to ever be featured in the index and is the hottest product of the quarter. “After going viral on TikTok and generating over 59 million views on the platform, it sold out multiple times across multiple colourways,” Lyst noted.
