PS-2 star cast takes turns greeting Aaradhya Bachchan, Trisha says, ‘You’re as tall as your mom now’
On April 29, the star-studded cast of Ponniyin Selvan: II, including Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, and others gathered together to watch the movie in Chennai. Aishwarya’s husband, actor Abhishek Bachchan, and their daughter Aaradhya also joined the team.
A video of Aishwarya arriving late for the screening has been doing the rounds on the internet. Aishwarya was seen apologising to Vikram and the duo shared a warm hug. Vikram then welcomed Aaradhya and said, “Hi baby! How are you? You’re getting more and more fabulous.” The star kid flashed a wide smile and said, “Thank you.” Aaradhya then interacted with other cast members. Trisha Krishnan hugged her and said, “You’re as tall as your mom now,” before Aaradhya was greeted by Jayam Ravi.

Helmed by Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan: II was released in theatres on April 28. The film opened to positive reviews and the indianexpress.com gave the film four stars. A part of the review read, “Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2 will have polarizing views. While the fans of the book might be disappointed with some major deviations from the book, the ace director understands the form won’t let him be entirely faithful to the novel.”
The historical epic made Rs 32 crore on its first day of release in India, which is roughly the same as what the first film made on its first day last year. Ponniyin Selvan: I concluded its run with Rs 500 crore worldwide.
