Salman Khan reminds Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Alia Bhatt of their shelved film Inshallah at award function, leaves them in splits
Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who hosted the 2023 Filmfare Awards, showcased his witty and humorous side during the event. The actor poked fun at Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia Bhatt when he hinted towards their shelved film Inshallah.
Bhansali’s film Inshallah was announced in 2019, and it was supposed to star Salman and Alia in the lead roles. However, according to reports, the film got shelved before it went into production due to creative differences between Bhansali and Khan.
In the video doing rounds on the internet, the award recipient said, “I have to thank god for Alia Bhatt..,” Salman interrupted and said, “Inshallah.” Bhansali and Alia burst out in laughter after listening to Salman. Towards the end, Salman once again said, “Inshallah.”

During the promotions of Gangubai Kathiawadi, Bhansali had opened up about the shelved film and had called Salman a ‘very dear friend.’ He said, “We all change as people. So he has changed, in his mind I have changed. It’s not like we are strangers or we do not like each other or we do not speak to each other.”
The director added, “My utmost regard and respect for the person who did Khamoshi for me, who did Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam for me, and who stood by me during Sawariyaa. He has been an important part of who I am today and I will always respect him for it. The ball is in his court for him to decide if he wants to work with me.”
