Seven-year-old girl raped in Pimpri Chinchwad; residential society watchman held
A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a watchman of a residential society in Pimpri Chinchwad in Maharashtra after he forcibly took her to a toilet on the society’s premises. The watchman has been arrested.
As per the police complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, the incident took place around 6.30pm on Wednesday, when the girl was playing with her friend in the residential society’s parking lot.
“The probe suggests that the watchman dragged the girl to a toilet next to the residential society’s administrative office and raped her there. The girl later told her mother about what had happened and the family approached us immediately. An FIR was registered on Thursday and the 30-year-old watchman was placed under arrest,” a police officer said.
“The accused, who is a native of Bihar, was produced before a court and remanded in police custody till May 2,” the officer added.
