This is the shocking moment a man is caught hurling a paving stone at a woman wearing a hijab in a suspected racist attack.
In the CCTV video that appeared on social media, a woman can be seen standing under an umbrella on a street in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, on Tuesday, unaware of the danger she is currently facing.
At that terrible moment, a hooded man dressed in black rushes towards them, carrying a large paving stone in both hands.
The man then throws the stone slab at the woman’s head, just as she moves out of the way and ducks to avoid the piece of concrete.
The woman in the hijab – a modest head covering worn by Muslim women – then runs from the attacker towards two stunned bystanders.

After the horrific attack, a shopkeeper leaves his shop and pulls his mobile phone out of his pocket as he realizes what has happened.
The attacker can be seen walking away almost casually, his hands in his pockets.
The woman can be seen clutching the side of her head where she was apparently hit by the paving slab.
West Yorkshire Police said a 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident in Dewsbury on Tuesday.
A spokesman said: “We can reassure residents that such incidents are taken extremely seriously.”
