Rufus Kampa is supposed to play a younger version of Prince William for the upcoming sixth and final season of The crown.
The final season will be broadcast in two parts with a total of ten episodes. Based on the British Royal Family, The crown debuted on Netflix in 2016 and featured a rotating cast of actors throughout its run.
The first four episodes will begin airing on Thursday, November 16th, with the remaining six episodes following on Thursday, December 14th. The new season revolves around the death of Princess Diana in 1997 and its aftermath. As in season 5, Diana is played by Elisabeth Debickiwith Dominic West to portray King Charles III.
Earlier this year, the show’s producers promised that they would handle Diana’s death carefully.

“There was a very, very careful, long, long conversation about how we do this – and I hope, you know, that the audience will judge it at the end, but I think it was carefully and thoughtfully recreated,” he said executive producer Suzanne Mackie said at the Edinburgh TV Festival in August. “We are thoughtful and sensitive people.”
The later episodes of the season will focus on the younger generation, including William and Princess Kate Middletonplayed by Meg Bellamy. While Ed McVey will portray William as a teenager and adult, Kampa will appear as a prince at the age of 15.
“In the first half of season six, you had to feel like Harry and William were boys and not young men,” Mackie said of Netflix, adding that she praises Kampa’s ability to play William at a vulnerable age and still something to give shine. “William is good-looking and charismatic, so you wanted someone who had that charisma.”

Kampa has an extensive list of theater performances. He made his professional debut in London’s West End in 2019 The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole 13 & 3/4s: The Musical and has since starred in other productions including First dates. He is also a graduate of the British Theater Academy.

Kampa submitted self-recorded videos following an open casting call on social media and was auditioned by casting directors, according to Deadline.
