The controversy behind “Squid Game: The Challenge”

As Squid Game: The Challenge Because the series tries to be as authentic to reality as possible (aside from the deaths, of course), it has garnered some negative attention due to its filming process. Contestants have left anonymous comments about the inhumane conditions on the show, which are just as life-threatening as those in the original series. First, the participants reported that they had to stand in bitterly cold conditions and were not given food for long periods of time. These brutal conditions resulted in numerous participants requiring immediate medical attention.
In addition, the participants reported that they had to get up at 3:30 a.m. and then make a two-hour drive to the filming location. Participants were strictly prohibited from communicating with each other. Filming often went over schedule, resulting in less relaxation time and planned dinners being canceled in favor of pizza deliveries and meager McDonald’s meals.
Although Netflix has addressed these concerns and ensured that no serious injuries occur, it shows the ugly side of reality TV shows, especially those that involve a huge cast.
What games are featured in Squid Game: The Challenge?

While full details of Squid Game: The Challenge has yet to be announced, the teaser trailer alone shows two of the many challenges the contestants will face.
A challenge is the infamous Red Light, Green Light, also known as the very first game in Squid game. The rules are simple. Participants must approach the leader (that’s the creepy oversized doll) while turning their heads and shouting “red light, green light, one, two, three.” As soon as the leader says “three,” the puppet turns its head toward the group. At this point, participants must freeze. It sounds very innocent, but every little move could have bloody consequences.
Another challenge is Hopscotch or Glass Bridge. It is a popular game that children are familiar with no matter what country you come from. But this version of Hopscotch is a little different. Instead of landing on the ground, you fall to your impending death. Some squares on Heaven and Hell are made of tempered glass and are strong enough to support a participant’s weight. However, other squares are made of regular glass, which breaks easily under any weight. The worst part is that the clock is ticking, so participants don’t have the luxury of weighing their options (get it?).
