Taylor Swift has become a cultural phenomenon. Her Eras Tour is getting rave reviews and now everyone who missed it can catch it in cinemas. Swift was an absolute superstar before the pandemic, her fame has skyrocketed in recent years, and today she’s one of the highest-earning musicians of all time.
There were a lot of problems with the Eras Tour, mostly related to ticket sales. Ticketmaster had to deal with a lot of failures in ticket sales, which were already extremely expensive. Ticketmaster also allows “Authorized Resellers” who have been able to snag many tickets before many fans have had a chance to snag them themselves. This allegedly led to inflated ticket prices, resulting in some people spending upwards of $1,000 on tickets. This has become such a problem that the Senate is now debating whether Ticketmaster is a monopoly that needs to be broken.

AMC Theaters is doing its best to ensure they don’t face similar problems by implementing a new system of ticket sales. In a press release they stated:
AMC is also aware that no ticketing system in history appears to have been able to meet the increasing demand from Taylor Swift fans at the first ticket sale. Guests who choose to be the first to purchase their tickets online can expect delays, longer than usual wait times to purchase tickets, and potential cancellations. AMC is committed to ensuring that any delays or failures are resolved as quickly as possible.
The concert film will premiere in cinemas on Friday, October 13. At each AMC location, the film will be shown at least four times a day from that date.
