$441M Sci-Fi Blockbuster Hits Streaming for Free Next Month: Catch the Action 3 Years Post-Debut!

$441M Sci-Fi Action Blockbuster Will Be Free To Stream Next Month Just 3 Years After Debut

A major sci-fi series is set to debut its latest release on a new streaming platform soon.

Iconic properties such as Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the newly revamped DC Universe by James Gunn continue to make waves in Hollywood, taking beloved intellectual properties (IPs) from past decades and bringing them to the silver screen, each with varying degrees of success. Classic franchises from the 1980s have particularly seen a resurgence in cinematic adaptations.

Marking its third anniversary, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which premiered in theaters on June 9, 2023, is transitioning over to a different streaming service. From July 1, this major sci-fi hit will be available for free streaming on Pluto TV in the U.S.

This will be an exclusive free streaming release, allowing fans to gear up for the July premiere on Pluto TV by catching up with earlier movies in the series, such as Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon, all of which are currently available on the same platform. Despite its free release, the 2023 Transformers movie did not perform as well as its predecessors.

Directed by Steven Caple Jr., Rise of the Beasts managed to collect $441.7 million globally, with $157.3 million from U.S. audiences and $284.3 million from international viewers, after being produced with a budget estimated between $195 million and $200 million.

The film features a diverse cast including Anthony Ramos as Noah Diaz, Tobe Nwigwe as Reek, Dominique Fishback as Elena Wallace, Sarah Stiles as Jillian Robinson, Luna Lauren Vélez as Breanna Diaz, Aidan Devine as Bishop, Michael Kelly as Agent Burke, and Lucas Huarancca as Amaru.

For the roles of the Transformers characters, the film enlisted a variety of prominent actors for voice roles, including Ron Perlman as Optimus Primal, Peter Dinklage as Scourge, Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime, Pete Davidson as Mirage, Michelle Yeoh as Airazor, Liza Koshy as Arcee, Colman Domingo as Unicron, John DiMaggio as Stratosphere, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez as Nightbird, Cristo Fernández as Wheeljack, and Tongayi Chirisa as Cheetor.

In a review by ScreenRant, critic Graeme Guttmann noted that while Transformers: Rise of the Beasts had its highlights, they were mostly overshadowed by many mundane elements common to the franchise’s previous films, suggesting that the movie didn’t offer much in terms of new or innovative content.

At the time of this writing, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts holds a 51% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. While it may not have impressed critics, it has received a much warmer reception from the audience, boasting a 91% approval rating.

Don’t miss the chance to stream Transformers: Rise of the Beasts for free on Pluto TV starting July 1.
