New Podcast Series “SPLBERG” to Debut on Audible
Audible is gearing up to release a new podcast series titled SPLBERG, which delves into the peculiar story of Jonathan Taylor Spielberg. This individual managed to convince everyone at a Catholic high school in a Virginia suburb that he was the nephew of the renowned director Steven Spielberg.
The podcast is led by Charlie Webster, a journalist known for her work on Scamanda. She not only hosts but also serves as the executive producer of the series, which is set to premiere on Audible on June 25th.
Exploring the Spielberg Impersonation
SPLBERG spans eight episodes, each unfolding the complex narrative through discussions with people who were once classmates of Spielberg, alongside interviews with detectives and attorneys involved in the case. The official description of the series states: “Webster revisits the events from the late 1990s and brings to light new information and viewpoints that question the original understanding of the story. This project, which took years to develop, features thorough original reporting and exclusive access to significant individuals linked to the case, including Jonathan Taylor Spielberg himself.”
In her statement, Webster shared her initial impressions and the deeper implications of the story. “At first glance, this might appear as just another bizarre, light-hearted incident from the 90s that occurred in a high school setting. It seems odd, yet innocuous,” she remarked.
She continued, “When I first encountered this story, I decided to step away, only to find myself facing a personal ethical dilemma. The process of returning to this story is a narrative in itself. My roles as a journalist, producer, and survivor influenced every decision I made. SPLBERG is among the most unusual stories I’ve ever pursued – it’s my effort to bridge the gap between the commonly accepted narrative and the truth, advocating for those who were wronged. Prepare for an enthralling journey, and I assure you, the outcome will be completely unexpected.”
SPLBERG is produced exclusively for Audible by Telltale Industries, with Webster at the helm of production.
