A24 UK is in the process of adapting Patrick Radden Keefe’s investigative book, “London Falling: A Mysterious Death in a Gilded City and a Family’s Search for Truth,” into a television series.
The narrative of the book centers around Zac Brettler, a young man from London whose death in 2019 sparked intrigue and mystery. Following his demise, his parents unearth shocking details about their son’s secret life, where he masqueraded as the affluent son of a Russian oligarch. The book delves into their quest to uncover the truth about their son’s life and death, leading them deep into the shadowy depths that lie beneath London’s opulent facade.
Scheduled to be published in just five days, “London Falling” originally gained public attention as an article in the New Yorker, which captivated many readers with its compelling storytelling.
Patrick Radden Keefe, a distinguished investigative journalist from the United States, is also seeing his work “The Snakehead” being adapted by A24. This adaptation is often compared to classics like “The Godfather” and “Chinatown.” This project marks A24’s second venture into London-based narratives in recent times, following the acquisition of Laura Shepherd-Robinson’s “We Are The Dead.”
A24 UK, under the leadership of Piers Wenger and Rose Garnett, successfully secured the rights to “London Falling” in a highly competitive bid.
A24 UK has recently expanded its team by hiring Patrick Walters, the executive producer of “Heartstopper.” The company is actively developing several television projects, including “The Husbands” featuring Juno Temple for Apple TV, a Channel 4 soccer drama titled “Major Players” created by Molly Manning Walker, and Michaela Coel’s upcoming series “First Day on Earth” for BBC and HBO, which recently announced its cast.
