AMC Networks International Consolidates Regional Operations

AMC Networks International (AMCNI) is set to reorganize its business structure by merging its Southern Europe and Latin America divisions. This change comes under the leadership of Antonio Ruiz, the current Managing Director for Southern Europe, while John Huff, the Managing Director for Latin America, will step down following a transitional phase.

The combined entity will be managed as a cohesive unit, with Ruiz and his experienced team based in Europe at the helm. The amalgamation aims to streamline operations and bolster collaboration across the two regions, which share significant cultural connections.

Strategic Leadership Reorganization

Eduardo Zulueta, President of AMC Networks International, commented on the merger stating, “By creating a unified leadership structure, we can enhance cooperation between these markets, pool our expertise more effectively, and build a stronger presence collectively.” He added that Antonio Ruiz’s expanded role will bring his substantial leadership skills and operational insight to a wider arena, enhancing the company’s ability to produce and deliver highly acclaimed series and local content that appeal to viewers in both areas.

Zulueta also took the opportunity to commend John Huff for his leadership and dedication, acknowledging his crucial role in developing a robust foundation for the company’s ongoing success.

Operational Footprint and Offerings

In Southern Europe, AMCNI operates a variety of thematic channels and streaming services tailored to Spanish and Portuguese audiences, including well-known channels like AMC and AMC+, as well as specialized channels such as Canal Hollywood, Canal Historia, Canal Cocina, and VinTV.

Conversely, the Latin American division caters to Spanish and Portuguese-speaking markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. It offers a range of channels including AMC, AMC Series, and thematic channels like El Gourmet, Film&Arts, and Europa Europa, catering to diverse viewer preferences in the region.
