Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Frankenstein emerged as a standout at the British Film Designers Guild 2026 Production Design Awards.
Frankenstein clinched the award for Best Production Design in a Major Motion Picture, Period category, surpassing Hamnet, another contender. Meanwhile, Fiona Crombie and Alice Felton, the Production Designer and Set Decorator for Hamnet, respectively, secured the Best Production Design in a Major Motion Picture, Fantasy category for their contributions to Mickey 17.
The Thing with Feathers was awarded Best Production Design in a Feature Film, Contemporary category. In contrast, The Choral won in the Best Production Design in a Feature Film, Period category.
The accolade for Best Production Design in a Music Video was given to The Shoemaker by Tom Hickox. Additionally, the Planet Positive Award was bestowed upon Zsofia Szemeredy from Leverage Point Entertainment for her work on Down Cemetery Road.
The Guild honored Malcolm Stone, a dedicated BFDG member and Treasurer, with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Stone’s notable projects include The Muppets, Band of Brothers, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and The Dark Crystal.
