Iconic Predator Characters Back in Action: Unveiled in New “Killer of Killers” Edition!

A Yautja looking angrily over one shoulder in Predator: Killer of Killers

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that Predator: Killer of Killers will receive a new version, featuring the return of some of the most beloved characters from the series. The film, which marks the first animated venture into the Predator universe, was co-directed by Dan Trachtenberg and Joshua Wassung and made its debut on Hulu on June 6.

The movie adopts an anthology format, showcasing various historical warriors battling a Yautja, including a Samurai and a fighter pilot. Despite the critique from ScreenRant on the original version of Predator: Killer of Killers, the film received overwhelmingly favorable reviews.

It has now been confirmed at the SDCC 2025 Predator: Badlands panel, attended by ScreenRant, that a refreshed version of Predator: Killer of Killers is set to premiere on Hulu today at 7:00pm PST. This updated version will maintain the same ending as the original but includes an additional scene.

The new scene features the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Dutch from the original Predator (1987) and Danny Glover’s Lieutenant Mike Harrigan from Predator 2 (1990), appearing in cryo-tubes alongside other vanquished hunters. Trachtenberg disclosed that Schwarzenegger gave his nod for the Dutch cameo during a breakfast meeting, hinting at:

“We can continue to cook with that character.”

Implications for Predator: Killer Of Killers

Set Up for Continued Success

On Rotten Tomatoes, Killer of Killers boasts an impressive 95% rating from critics, making it the highest-rated entry in the Predator series. Additionally, it enjoys a strong 88% on the Popcornmeter, indicating robust audience approval.

The animated portrayal of the Yautja has clearly struck a chord, and this new edition is likely to maintain that trend. According to Trachtenberg, the added scenes serve more as a bonus for the fans rather than altering the overall narrative or character arcs within Killer of Killers.

While it remains unclear whether this new cut was always in the plans, or if the positive reception helped push it through, it certainly provides a fresh reason for fans to enjoy the film again. The original cut was not only a critical success but also a hit in terms of viewership on Hulu, and this new edition is expected to further enhance these figures.

This latest development for Killer of Killers could maintain the high interest for the upcoming Predator: Badlands, also directed by Trachtenberg. With Prey (2022) and now Killer of Killers, Trachtenberg continues to prove his adeptness at handling the Predator series.

Perspectives on the Extended Ending of Killer Of Killers

Exciting Cameos Add a Fun Element

As seen in Marvel’s strategy, cameos often serve simply as delightful surprises. Seeing a familiar character pop up can be a thrilling moment for fans.

Dutch, the character who launched the Predator saga, makes a brief return in this animated film, potentially exciting those familiar with the franchise’s lore. Although Predator 2 did not receive as much acclaim, Mike Harrigan’s appearance might also be a pleasant addition for fans.

The success of Predator: Killer of Killers suggests that the franchise could continue to thrive outside of live-action films. While there are no immediate plans for more animated Predator movies, this new cut indicates that this format could still be explored in the future.
