Go2Films Acquires Sales Rights for Documentary Narrated by Jason Alexander
EXCLUSIVE: Go2Films has recently acquired the sales rights for the documentary To Kill A Nazi, narrated by Jason Alexander, which delves into the historical events of the Entebbe hostage crisis that occurred half a century ago.
Global Premiere Details
The film, directed by Penn State professor Boaz Dvir, is set to have its world premiere at the Dances With Films festival in Los Angeles at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Monday, June 22. Following this, its international debut will take place at the Croatian International Film Festival in Šibenik on Monday, July 27.
Plot Synopsis
The documentary centers on the gripping true story of Michel Cojot, a French family man deeply affected by his father’s murder in Auschwitz. Cojot discovers that Klaus Barbie, the Gestapo Commander known as the “Butcher of Lyon,” was responsible for his father’s arrest. Tracking Barbie to Bolivia, Cojot, under the guise of a journalist, confronts Barbie with a loaded gun in a La Paz alley but ultimately cannot bring himself to shoot. This moment of hesitation burdens him until he finds a chance for redemption during the 1976 Entebbe Raid (Operation Thunderbolt), where he and his son, then 12, are among the hostages.
Production Insights
The production, a collaborative effort between Dvir Productions and Tradition Pictures, aims to challenge and correct prevailing myths about the raid, particularly the role of Revolutionary Cells leader Wilfried Böse. Contrary to his notorious reputation, Böse reportedly helped direct hostages to safety during the raid instead of harming them.
The 101-minute documentary, a co-production between the USA and France, also features exclusive interviews with figures such as Olivier Cojot-Goldberg, Entebbe hostage spokesperson Ilan Hartuv, and mission commander Rami Sherman.
