BOOM! Studios recently made an official announcement about their upcoming release, BRZRKR: Light Draws Breath #1, which includes a synopsis hinting at an intriguing expansion of B’s backstory:
“The immortal warrior B. has perished.
Yet again. Not for long, of course. However, in the Bronze Age, two rogue scientists manage to extract a small sample of his protoplasm before he completely regenerates, leading to the emergence of something new…

BOOM! adds that the story will incorporate authentic historical figures and events, as well as the clandestine histories of alchemy. Thus, this one-shot is set before the majority of the original BRZRKR comic series, which primarily occurs in the early 2020s, apart from the extensive flashbacks detailing the character’s 80,000-year history.
As such, Light Draws Breath essentially acts as an exploration into one of those detailed flashbacks, offering fans a deeper glimpse into B’s life prior to his engagement with the U.S. military in contemporary times.
