Canadian Sitcom “Late Bloomer” Resumes With New Leadership

The beloved Canadian sitcom Late Bloomer has restarted filming in Toronto, featuring a refreshed leadership team at the helm. Jasmeet Raina, who not only created the series but also stars in it, will now serve as a co-showrunner alongside Nelu Handa. The Crave original series will see Raina directing half of the episodes for the upcoming season, while the remaining episodes will be directed by Canadian filmmaker Fawzia Mirza. Additionally, a sneak peek of the third season is now available.

Plot and Character Development

Late Bloomer centers around the character Jasmeet Dutta, a young turban-wearing individual navigating the complexities of modern life, torn between his Eastern heritage and Western societal expectations. The storyline is inspired by the real-life experiences of Jasmeet Raina, who is widely recognized from his days as YouTuber JusReign.

The third season sees Jasmeet dealing with the aftermath of a heartbreak while ascending to new peaks of fame. This season promises to showcase his professional achievements and personal challenges, including evolving friendships and new family conflicts, as he confronts both his personal development and the demands of his escalating career.

Series Success and Future Expectations

Having established itself as one of Crave’s most successful original productions and achieving global recognition earlier this year, Late Bloomer continues to captivate audiences. The announcement of its third season was part of the unveiling of Crave’s 2025/26 programming lineup.

Reflecting on the series’ journey, Jasmeet Raina shared his excitement about the new season: “It’s incredible to think about how far we’ve come since the inception of Late Bloomer. As we venture into our third season, we aim to continue raising the bar, taking some significant creative risks to ensure we deliver a compelling story.”
