Rodeo FX, a visual effects company, recently celebrated the opening of its new Parisian studio, which consolidates its French operations, including the recent integration of Mikros Animation from the 2025 acquisition.
Based in Montreal, Rodeo FX is known for its work on high-profile projects such as Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, The Rings of Power, John Wick: Chapter 4, and Dune. The company views the launch of this new facility as a significant milestone for its operations in France.
This development follows the establishment of a Paris branch two years earlier, spurred by France’s enhanced focus on attracting international post-production work through incentives like a 10% bonus on top of the 30% Tax Rebate for International Production (TRIP), along with investments in infrastructure.
Located in Rue Dieu near the scenic Canal Saint Martin in the 10th arrondissement, the new studio will be the hub for Rodeo FX’s various French sectors, including Film & Episodic, Advertising & Experiences, and Mikros Animation.
“Our Paris team’s growth has been extraordinary, and this expansion validates our strategy to enhance Rodeo FX’s footprint in Europe,” remarked Sebastien Moreau, President and CEO of Rodeo FX.
The office, spanning over 40,000 square feet, is designed to accommodate the fast growth of both Rodeo FX and Mikros Animation. It also aims to promote better collaboration among different teams, streamline operations, boost creative synergy, and speed up innovation for all project sizes.
“The progress we’ve made in just two years is astounding, with each project elevating our creative and technical capabilities. Starting this new chapter by bringing all our teams together in such an inspiring environment motivates us even more,” stated Franck Lambertz, VFX Supervisor and Head of the Paris Studio.
The Film & Episodic division in Paris, which has contributed to European films like Luc Besson’s Dracula and Alexandre Astier’s Kaamelott, is currently working on upcoming projects for Netflix and Pathé.
Meanwhile, the Advertising & Experiences team has been involved in creating luxury campaigns for prestigious brands such as Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Hermès.
The relocation to a larger office also smooths the integration of Mikros Animation, recognized globally for its animation work on PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
The acquisition of Mikros Animation came after the early 2025 dissolution of the France-based Technicolor Group, which owned Mikros Animation along with three other subsidiaries: MPC, The Mill, and Technicolor Group itself.
“This move is a crucial step in our full integration into the Rodeo FX family,” expressed Julien Meesters, President of Mikros Animation. “It continues our journey, allowing us to utilize a global pipeline and state-of-the-art technologies for our upcoming productions.”
