As Super Bowl 2026 approaches, a recent report has illuminated the participation of DC and Marvel Studios at this major event. With the year 2026 rolling in, the entertainment industry is buzzing with major upcoming releases from both the DC Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A piece from Deadline suggests that fans should not expect the release of trailers for Avengers: Doomsday or Spider-Man: Brand New Day during the Super Bowl. This information also confirms that Warner Bros. will not feature any promotional content for the upcoming DC Studios’ films Supergirl and Clayface.
Currently, all four superhero films have completed their principal photography and are in different phases of post-production. The cast of Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for reshoots in the spring, which will be followed by the shooting of Avengers: Secret Wars in the summer.
During the end of December 2025 and the beginning of January 2026, Marvel Studios showcased individual teasers of Avengers: Doomsday ahead of screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. Meanwhile, the first trailer for the Supergirl movie was released in December, highlighting Milly Alcock as the iconic Girl of Steel. Additionally, the Clayface movie, set to be the first R-rated film in the DC Universe, stars Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen and explores his transformation into the notorious shape-shifting villain.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is set to release in theaters in less than six months, surprisingly will not have its trailer featured at the Super Bowl. To date, Sony Pictures has not disclosed any plans for the debut of the first footage of this Phase 6 installment.
The theatrical release dates for these films are as follows: Supergirl is set for June 26, Spider-Man: Brand New Day for July 31, Clayface for September 11, and Avengers: Doomsday will cap off the year on December 18.
