Miramax TV Taps Carissa Hope Lynch To Lead UK & Lucy Dertavitian To Oversee MENA

New Leadership Appointments at Miramax

EXCLUSIVE: Miramax has recently appointed Carissa Hope Lynch as the Creative Director for its UK operations and Lucy Dertavitian as the Head of Content for the MENA (Middle East & North Africa) region.

Strategic Expansion in the UK

Carissa Hope Lynch will be based in the London office of Miramax and will be responsible for overseeing the development and production activities in the UK. This appointment is part of Miramax’s strategy to solidify its presence in the region. Lynch will be working directly under the supervision of Alix Jaffe, Miramax’s President of Television. She will collaborate closely with Rosie Collins, Creative Executive in the UK, focusing on transforming Miramax’s extensive film catalog into television formats.

Before joining Miramax, Lynch was integral to the development and production team at Eleven Film, a UK indie production company. During her tenure, she collaborated with prominent networks and platforms such as Channel 4, Film 4, Sony, BBC, Sky, Paramount+, and Netflix. Her project portfolio includes notable titles like Stags (Paramount+, 2024), Red Rose (BBC/Netflix, 2022), and White Stork (Netflix).

Focus on MENA Region

Lucy Dertavitian will operate from Doha, Qatar, and will lead Miramax’s initiatives across the Middle East and North Africa. Her role involves partnering with regional producers, writers, and directors to adapt Miramax’s library of intellectual properties into Arabic-language series. Additionally, she will focus on creating original content with local talents aimed at regional and global markets.

Dertavitian brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles in development at MBC Studios and OSN, where she handled local Arabic productions as well as high-end English-language content aimed at global audiences. She will report to Mirsada Abdool Raman, Senior Vice President of Television at Miramax.

This focus on the MENA region underscores its importance to Miramax, a company supported by beIN and Paramount.

Alix Jaffe, President of Miramax Television, expressed excitement about the new leadership driving the company’s international ambitions. “We’re thrilled to announce the team leading Miramax Television’s international expansion, with Carissa helming the UK and Lucy guiding our efforts across MENA,” Jaffe stated. “This team will be instrumental in building our global footprint, demonstrating our commitment to reimagining our iconic IP and creating original stories for new audiences around the world. We’re excited for the opportunity ahead.”

Among Miramax’s recent television achievements are the Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated series The Gentleman, which has been renewed for a second season at Netflix. Moreover, Miramax has expanded its portfolio by securing rights through Panoramic Media—led by CEO Jonathan Glickman—to the show Zero Day starring Robert DeNiro, and the popular Jenna Ortega comedy Wednesday. On the cinematic front, Miramax is preparing a sequel to the successful film The Beekeeper, which amassed over $160M globally, with Jason Statham reprising his role and Timo Tjahjanto directing.
