The IMAX 70mm format is renowned for being the highest quality film format globally, yet it is also extremely exclusive, playing in only 19 locations as listed at the trailer’s end.
Unlike the previous two films in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune series, which were filmed digitally, Dune: Part Three was primarily shot using 65mm film stock, representing a significant departure towards a more naturalistic and tactile visual style. The production utilized both 65mm and 15/70mm IMAX film cameras to achieve this aesthetic.
