Scarlett Johansson & Adam Driver Thrill in "Paper Tiger" Trailer: Crime Drama Revealed!

A brand new trailer has officially dropped for the much-anticipated crime drama Paper Tiger, featuring Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson, and Miles Teller.

In the movie, brothers Gary and Irwin Pearl, portrayed by Driver and Teller respectively, find themselves entangled with the Russian mafia following a seemingly lucrative but risky business deal. The peril escalates when their family becomes a target, leading to tensions that threaten to tear their familial bonds apart. Scarlett Johansson plays Hester, Irwin’s wife, delivering a performance that has earned her a nomination for two Oscars.

Following a teaser a month earlier, Neon has now unveiled a full-length trailer for Paper Tiger, which showcases further layers of the gripping drama expected to unfold. The trailer is available below:

The trailer of Paper Tiger opens with a warm reunion between the brothers at the home of Irwin and Hester. While the atmosphere initially seems cheerful, the mood quickly shifts as the Pearl children inquire about their uncle’s firearm, setting a foreboding tone. Gary nonchalantly confirms he still possesses the weapon, subtly hinting at looming troubles.

A family reunion turns tense in the trailer’s opening scenes.

The plot thickens as Gary and Irwin discuss a new business venture that promises to benefit their whole family. However, the tension rises when Hester, appearing worried, confronts her husband about a mysterious issue at the canal leading to unforeseen complications. Irwin admits to stumbling upon something he shouldn’t have, and when pressed by Hester about their sons’ involvement, he is visibly disturbed and evasive.

Hester’s protective instincts kick in, and she insists on calling the police, reassuring her children of their safety. Meanwhile, Gary reproaches Irwin for his reckless curiosity which now necessitates a clean-up. Hester is also seen rebuking Irwin for endangering their children, underscored by a chilling scene of one of their sons with a knife dangerously close to his face.

Directed and written by James Gray, who is known for his works like Armageddon Time, Little Odessa, The Lost City of Z, and Ad Astra, Paper Tiger promises to be a compelling narrative. The production team includes notable figures such as Rodrigo Teixeira, Anthony Katagas, and others.

The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, where it competed for the prestigious Palme d’Or and will be shown next at the New York Film Festival on September 25. Early responses have been largely favorable, with the film currently holding an 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, largely due to Gray’s narrative prowess.

Paper Tiger is set to hit theaters on Friday, November 13, 2026.
