Scream 7 Trailer Drop: Brutal Ghostface Kills & Sidney’s Dark Past Revealed!

Scream 7 Trailer Reveals More Brutal Ghostface Kills & A Connection To Sidney's Past

The latest installment of the Scream series has elevated the horror to new heights.

The freshly released trailer for Scream 7 showcases a series of grim murders by Ghostface, while also suggesting a deep link to the history of protagonist Sidney. In Scream 7, Sidney is prominently featured, something not seen since Scream 4. This time, she faces a murderer who is after her family, putting her daughter Tatum in peril.

Paramount Pictures has unveiled a new Big Game Spot trailer for Scream 7 just before the Super Bowl. The footage presents Ghostface committing multiple savage murders, including hanging a woman in a theater and suffocating a police officer with plastic before fatally stabbing him. The narration suggests that Ghostface is targeting those close to Sidney.

In the trailer, Sidney is seen attempting to rescue her daughter, who is revealed during a TV interview to be the same age Sidney was during the original Scream events. The trailer climaxes with Sidney shocked to hear the voice of Stu, a Ghostface from the first film, and concludes with an announcement that ticket sales will begin on February 9.

The 2026 release promises a distinct shift from the more recent entries in the franchise. Scream VI concluded with main characters Sam and Tara escaping a group of Ghostface assailants, with Sam abandoning her father’s mask. Neither character will appear in this new film.

Rather, the seventh film focuses on Sidney’s past reemerging to haunt her. The identity of the new Ghostface remains a mystery, but they appear to possess intimate knowledge of Sidney and her close ones, including the capability to imitate the voice of past murderers like Stu, who was confirmed dead in the original movie.

The latest trailer also teases some of the most vicious killings in Scream history, highlighting the public nature of this Ghostface’s rampage. With a focus on Sidney and her circle, it seems likely that some well-known characters might meet their end in this unforgiving new chapter.

With its darker trajectory and nods to Sidney’s past, the film seems primed for significant narrative twists. Yet, for the moment, Scream 7 seems intent on keeping its mysteries under wraps as its antagonist targets the series’ longtime heroine and her loved ones.

Scream 7 is set to premiere in theaters on February 27, 2026.
