‘The Crown’ Studio Elstree Brings In MBS Group To Manage Operations

EXCLUSIVE: Elstree Studios, the renowned British film studio known for hosting productions like The Crown and Strictly Come Dancing, has entered into a partnership with The MBS Group to oversee its studio operations.

Situated in Borehamwood, just to the north of London, Elstree Studios recently celebrated its 100th anniversary. This significant event highlighted its legacy as the filming location for iconic movies such as Star Wars, The Shining, and Indiana Jones.

Elstree Studios has agreed on a collaboration with The MBS Group, aiming to enhance the operational experience for production companies that utilize its facilities. The financial terms of the agreement remain confidential.

The MBS Group is known for managing 650 soundstages globally, including the Avatar production site Manhattan Beach Studios and Eastbrook Studios in London.

Jeremy Newmark, the leader of Hertsmere Borough Council and chair of Elstree Studios, commented on the new partnership, stating: “It is particularly fitting to announce this partnership as we kick off a centenary programme that celebrates pride, progress, and partnerships. This collaboration connects our storied past with our goal to remain a leader in the creative industries.”

Jason Hariton, the chief studio and real estate officer at The MBS Group, referred to Elstree as “a cornerstone of global cinematic history.”
